What I Wore On Holiday

Here are some of the outfits that I wore on my recent holiday to the United States. We visited New York City, Scottsdale and Sedona in Arizona and finished our holiday in Las Vegas, Nevada. With temperatures in New York in the high 20s/low 30s and Arizona and Nevada temperatures up to 45 degrees celsius, I wanted to be as comfortable as possible.

I stuck with my favourite go-to holiday outfits which would traditionally be a midi skirt with a t-shirt and sandals. This time I also added in a couple of shirt dresses which honestly made me feel like a million dollars. I’ve always fancied getting a shirt dress but I’ve never found the right one, so I was so pleased to find a couple that I loved to take on this holiday with me.

I wore jumpsuits for the first time ever on this holiday (to combat chafing in dresses – I usually am a firm believer in the cycling shorts for this but as it was going to be over 40 degrees I didn’t want ANY unnecessary layers) and felt great. I’ve never been able to find jumpsuits that fit me well as I am very much pear-shaped, smaller at the top and larger at the bottom, so any jumpsuits I have tried previously either couldn’t fit over my hips or hung off me at the top. The two that I bought were both from New Look and both made out of soft, stretchy material so they were SO comfy when I was walking around all day in extreme heat.

I often find packing for a holiday or just packing to go anywhere in general really stressful, you never know what the weather is going to be like or what you’ll feel like wearing on any particular day (I like to just go with how I feel day-to-day) so hopefully this post will provide you with some inspiration for any upcoming trips you may have – especially if it’s hot!
