I wanted to share a few bits that I picked up at & Other Stories recently. When & Other Stories first appeared on the high street I didn’t think that much of it, I thought everything seemed a bit overpriced and nothing seemed to fit me in there. However recently I have made a few visits to the store and have found some really lovely items.
The first thing I’d like to mention is their perfumes. I have been a HUGE fan of Zara perfume for as long as I can remember. I always thought that I had found a hidden gem with their perfumes, being super cheap (approx £12.99 for 100ml) and all smelling amazing. It didn’t really occur to me that other high street stores sold perfume so I never tried any others.
The Zara perfumes were often tucked away in a particular part of the store, sometimes going unnoticed – I couldn’t always find perfume in Zara, maybe it was really well hidden or not every branch sold perfume. Anyway, the perfume in & Other Stories is fairly easy to see, often positioned right in the middle of the shop floor.
I love perfume, you can read my post about the Perfume Exhibition at Somerset House here. I tend to gravitate towards quite sweet scents, I really love vanilla and fruity smells. I picked up the following three fragrances:
Haute Goth – Dark garden notes flourishing under cassis couture
Perle de Coco – Milky coconut cruising seas of warm vanilla and sweet caramel
Punk Bouquet – Tiger orchid and dewy lotus flower are entwined with nutty almond and sweet tonka beans, overgrown by tree moss and topped with a splash of tangerine – frothy vanilla soda on a rebellious rose bouquet
All of these perfumes cost £26 for 50ml.
As I write this post I have actually already finished the Perle de Coco, it just smelt delicious and I was pretty liberal when using it. I have got quite a few comments on what perfumes I am wearing since buying these from & Other Stories. The bottles feature quite a basic design with the name of the fragrance printed on a ribbon, however I think for the price and the quality of the perfume these are still fairly good value for money.
Another item I picked up from & Other Stories which has also received countless compliments is this gorgeous phone case with colourful bugs on.
I’m always drawn to brightly coloured things and I just couldn’t resist this. It fits beautifully to my iPhone 6 and I love the slim feel of the clear plastic.
The final item in my & Other Stories haul is this gorgeous floral print dress.
It pretty much offers everything that I look for in a dress – smock/skater style, long sleeves, collar & sleeve detail, beautiful soft fabric and a stunning pattern.
It is made from a 100% polyester fabric with a gorgeous burgundy design featuring a paisley-inspired floral pattern. The material is so soft it almost feels like silk. The dress also has a drawstring waist with billowing sleeves and a ruffle neck detail to give it that romantic feel.
I had been eyeing up this dress for a while, but with the hefty price tag of £99 I had always resisted it. When I saw it reduced in the sale, I just had to get it.
And that concludes my & Other Stories spring haul! Overall I think & Other Stories is a bit on the expensive side, and would pretty much always wait for their sales to buy their clothes, however their fragrance range & accessories I think are reasonably priced. Do you shop at & Other Stories? What are your favourite bits you’ve picked up in there?
